Community college was established in the year 2014 by AICTE(All India Council of Technical Education) under Polytechnic Kohima, Nagaland. Community College is financed by AICTE in the month of March every year. There are two type of courses under Community College, that is, Fashion Technology / Fashion Designing and Information Technology under Software Development. Every year we enrolled 30 intake in both the Departments. The certification course for both the departmentsí begins in the month of March and end in the month of November with both theory and practical examination every year.

Certificate is issued by (SCTE) State Council for Technical Education, and Department for Technical Education, Nagaland.

Pradham Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is a scheme of Skill Development initiative scheme of the Govt. of India, for recognition and standardisation of skills.
  The National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2015, has projected a shortage of 109 million skilled persons by 2022 and called for an integrated effort to step up skilling of youth under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana(PMKVY).
   Keeping in view, it is decided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development that All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi will run the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) to train the unemployed youth, especially school/ college drop-outs, in Engineering Skills through AICTE approved Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics.
   Government Polytechnic Kohima has also been selected among 1562 institutes to implement the scheme on two specialization -
-Assistant Electrician and
-Reinforcement Fitter under Construction Sector.

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA), India was initially established by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) under section 10(u) of AICTE act, in the year 1994, for periodic evaluations of technical institutions & programmes basis according to specified norms and standards as recommended by AICTE Council.
  NBA has introduced a new process, parameters and criteria for accreditation. These are in line with the best international practices and oriented to assess the outcome of the programme.
